[TIER 5/E / N00B RANK]

This is for like, Canon-Fodder Normies and Students/Young wannabe Ninja's. Don't get this tier. Plznokthx.

[TIER 4/D / NOVICE RANK]

4-5 ~ Nice to see you setting sail, but you've got a lot to learn as a pirate. Canon examples of this would include Shanks arm after the shark digested it and pooped it out, or Koby in the opening chapters. With hardwork and determination, you may even be able to beat a civilian in a fight. Maybe. Possibly. Could happen!

4-4 ~ You're learning! One might even mistake you for a threat if they lost their glasses, but that visage of danger isn't fooling anyone worth their salt. At this tier you're still bottom of the rung, if you have a devil fruit at all your ability to use it is probably not ideal and your capabilities of a fighter are still being developed. You could probably dispatch a band of navy soldiers who yearned for their own deaths, but that's about the extent of your contributions. Spandam is a good example of this tier.

4-3 ~ As a pirate you are beginning to make your mark. You're becoming respectable at a minor level, and you can claim to be a pirate in public now without being scoffed at. You're still not powerful, but you can certainly hold your own in a scuffle if the need arises. Someone like Axe-Hand Morgan or pre-fruit Alvida would make a good example of this tier.

4-2 ~ By this point you're gathering some local acclaim, and your proficiency in battle is now such that flukes are out of thew question. Your average civilian or marine has no hope of defeating you in battle, and your own abilities are such that a crew of repute would be well-served to have you involved in their operation. A good example of this tier would be someone like Kuro or Wapol.

4-1 ~ At this point you are strong enough that beginners have no choice but to submit to your whims. To call you strong would be over the top, but you are plenty capable in comparison to many pirates sailing the seas. By this point, you've obtained a bounty listing that makes hunters turn their heads when you walk by. Good for you, but if you want to avoid it ending up on a pike you'll need to progress even further. A good example of this tier would be someone like Mr. 3 or Miss Golden Week.

[TIER 3/C / APPRENTICE RANK]

3-5 ~ People no longer need to squint to see the visage of a pirate when you enter the room, and by this point you've piled up enough bodies for people to know better. Someone like Merry Christmas or Arlong would be a good example of this tier.

3-4 ~ By this point, you have begun to carve your own path and niche as a combatant. You are a pirate worthy of admiration, and you're far ahead of what a standard pirate has to offer. Bon Clay when he fought Sanji is a good example of this tier.

3-3 ~ At this point, you've earned a bounty in blood that most pirates would aspire to. You have to have something innate to get to this point, something that separates you from the average pirate like a devil fruit or natural ability. Your style has been molded by this particular talent. Someone like Mr. 1 is a good example of this tier.

3-2 ~ You are heading towards greatness, but have not quite gotten there. You are more than capable of defending yourself against almost anyone, but your ability to overcome the top pirates is still very much in question. Nico Robin during the Baroque Works arc is a good example of this tier.

3-1 ~  You are on the verge of joining the top ranks of the sea, but you are not quite ready for that burden yet. You are worthy of both fear and admiration, but in order to become truly feared you will need to push forward from here. Someone like Smoker would be a good example of this tier.

[TIER 2/B / ADEPT RANK]

2-5 ~ You have escaped mediocrity, but your potential is just close enough to tempt you and not close enough to truly touch. Sure, you can beat most if not all up and comers that come your way, you're even worth a glance from the bounty hunters in your area but is this all you've ever wanted? Kumadori is a good example of this tier.

2-4 ~ You're at a point where you can pretty well slapdown any up and comer who might stand in your way. Sure, the top end of the world around you is still scary, but for plenty of pirates you are their concept of fear. Someone like Hannibal from Impel Down is a good example of this tier.

2-3 ~ You're on the path to greatness, but you've got a long way to go. When you enter a room, bounty-hunters will take notice of you in an instant and the marine has long since had your name on the tip of their tongue. Someone like Kaku or Jabra would be a good example of this tier.

2-2 ~ You're a seasoned pirate who has claimed more lives than most can even dream of. To peak at this level is something to be proud of on a personal level, but no one would bother to confuse this with greatness. Someone like Rob Lucci would be at this level.

2-1 ~  You are on the border of greatness but haven't quite crossed that threshold. By this point, you have carved out a career that any pirate could be proud of, but it is unlikely (though not impossible) you've been considered for prestigous titles such as Warlord. Someone like Gecko is a good example of this tier.

[TIER 1/A/Warlord/Expert Tier]

1-5 ~ Once you reach this level of power, you can expect to be in the thoughts of all the worlds power brokers. If you aren't a warlord already, expect the offer to be made any time. Your reputation spans the seas, but you may still be able to hold some small semblance of anonymity in the short-term. If you continue to grow from here however, that small semblance will disappear in a hurry. Someone like Crocodile is a good example of this tier.

1-4 ~ Saying that you are on the weaker end of the warlords may feel like a slight, but it's a status that most can only dream of. You may not be able to compete with the best the world has to offer, but you are right on the verge. People like Jimbei and Boa are great examples of this tier.

1-3 ~ By this point, your name is known in every house in the world. No one needs to see your wanted poster, as the exact amount of berries your head is worth drips off the lips of every bounty hunter with equal levels of fear and admiration. Someone like Ace is a good example of this tier.

1-2 ~ A pirate that has reached this level is at warlord status almost certainly, and if not they have certainly been scouted. Any island or location you find yourself in will immediately be subject to your whims and suggestions, and you can easily dispatch an army with minimal effort. Someone like Doflamingo is a great example of this tier.

1-1 ~ By this point, you are a legend of the pirate world and can be proud of your contributions even if you are a touch below the gods. If you haven't agreed to become a warlord, your bounty is no doubt surging with your every move and your abilities are honed to an absurd degree. Someone like Kizaru would be a good example of this tier.

[TIER 0/S/Yonko/God Tier]

0-5 ~ If you have reached this tier, you are narrowly slotted among the gods and have a career and body of work that all but a select few would trade their life for. Your name precedes you, no act you commit from here on can ever be a secret due to the destruction you leave in your wake. You may not be able to single-handedly defeat a Yonko, but defeating you is a burden no one wants to shoulder. People such as Akainu and Kuzan are good examples of this tier.

0-4 ~ This tier is earmarked for the strongest of the strong. For most pirates, meeting someone at this level would be a mark of success in it's own right. The names and stories ended at the hands of someone who reaches this level are immeasurable, and yet they are still a touch below the best the world has to offer. Whitebeard at Marineford or Sengoku would be good examples of this tier.

0-3 ~ If you are in this tier, you are knocking on the door of being the strongest of your time. You are probably a Yonko, but it is likely you are not the most powerful of the bunch. Someone like Big Mom would be an excellent example of this tier.

0-2 ~ This tier is exclusively for Yonko and the strongest of the strong. You are a legend among legends, and the amount of people you truly fear can be counted on one hand. Someone like Shanks or Kaido would fall within this tier.

0-1 ~ God tier, Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard in their respective primes would lay claim to this tier and pretty much no one else.

Merit-Based Promotion

As you play your character, you may want to raise their tier. You can do so by asking staff nicely.

Event-Based Promotion

Certain threads and events may result in your character earning a tier increase. This is highly subjective and is determined by the needs of the plot, the importance of the thread/event, and other factors as determined by staff. If your character is eligible for an event-based promotion, staff will inform you. Examples of this include participating in events, time skips, dramatic character events, and more.
